Hepplewhite Design Circa 1800 of good quality mahogany of a
lovely rich colour and comprising of a carver and 5 side chairs with
interlaced backs and on tapering square legs united by
stretchers. Minor old repairs, but generally in good original
condition throughout. The shaped drop in seats covered with
old green velvet which is still in a good usable
condition.

Fine set of 8 Hepplewhite design
antique mahogany dining chairs, comprising of a pair of fine large carver
chairs, and 6 side chairs. These chairs date from around 1850, and
are very well constructed of quality mahogany, with fine large seats, and
elegant yet sturdy tapering legs with channeled detail which are
united by stretchers for added strength. The hooped back contains the
stylized wheatsheaf design highlighted by well carved detail of wheat ears,
so typical of Hepplewhite. The broad saddle shaped seats were
upholstered some time ago in a neutral velvet, which remains in good usable
condition.
A eminently comfortable and useable set of chairs.
